Longing

can you believe that it has been over a year since i have....

slept in an airport after sharing a bottle of pisco
drank lots of coca tea
saw the sacred valley
danced regularly to this music

avoided buying too many things from people who sold items like this
climbed up these "stairs"...
...to reach my favorite place in the world (the top of waynapicchu)...
...where i could sit on the edge of a cliff and meditate among the mountains
saw beautiful and amazing human feats
ate the most amazing burritos...
...made by amazing and talented people in their own home
thought it was normal to see a sloth
ran around here to find entertainment all afternoon...
...only to end up drinking beers with these people every day
made good friends with locals
watched children play on dilapidated boats before we climbed up a sawdust hill
bathed here
rowed down the river into town every morning
participated in a shaman ceremony
had this beautiful scenery to look at
danced with an amazon tribal leader
slept here for many hours

i miss peru and the jungle. i really want to go back. hopefully for medical missions. i would also love to work with shamans, but as you can imagine, most people do not think medicine and shamans can mix. i however, disagree.

i leave you with the first part of the video one of the guys in our group made. enjoy!

love.

  1. This is one my favorite posts, for sure. I love the words you chose to put with the pictures... they described it perfectly. And my favorite was your meditating on the edge of a cliff. (perfect!)

I am so jealous of your trip, but thank you because I feel like I just lived a little vicariously through you! :)

Good post. good post indeed. :)
