my latest treasures

i love flea markets. i have had lots of luck finding many different and completely necessary things. sometimes my mom, sister and i spend hours trying to find little, or big, treasures. i had been looking forward to my spring break flea market trip for months because i was unable to go during the christmas holiday due to the stock show taking over the cattle barns.

the trip ended up being very successful and i am very excited about each of my finds!

this painting was done by a woman who also has her own booth at the flea market. i love it sooo much! all of the beautiful colors, the cute little birds and the satisfied expression on the womans face. i think it's just perfect.

i had been looking for a nice tray to put on the coffee table since it is made up of those slightly cushioned stools. they are firm enough for glasses to stand on, but i felt it would be nice to have a more firm and stable area to put wine glasses on just to make sure they dont fall off and stain everything (i prefer red).

my mom found me this super cute one that is like a picture frame. you can remove the back and put in any image you want! it could not be more perfect! especially since i like to change things up pretty regularly.

here is where it now lives. its very lovely and has come in handy for catching random things i throw on it when i walk in the door.

this beautiful necklace caught my eye right as i walked inside. i now wear it all the time! super cute and unlike anything i have found before.

i am planning on taking a trip to the norman flea market in the upcoming weeks. i have been a long time ago and was not able to find anything, but maybe this next time will be different!

and happy april! i cant even believe its already here!

Wish Me Luck

today im getting....dun, dun, dun.....bangs! ah! im so very nervous/scared/excited. i really just dont know how to feel. i decided i needed a change and i am refusing to cut off my hair. bangs seemed like the best solution. ill let you know how i feel afterward!

this is the picture im bringing in. the only time i have actually brought in a picture when getting my haircut was junior year of high school and it was of sophia bush. it turned out well then, hopefully today will be the same! im still working a bit on calming my nerves.

thursday was just a random day filled with hanging out involving me, tracy, brig, megan and carolyn. it was great! megan and i ate chicken express! yummy! that was my reward to myself for making $50 by babysitting the twins and the three year old. tracy also randomly decided to cut her hair! it was mainly inspired by the fact that the night before she attended a truly frat tastic party and was tired of hair falling out and getting stuck all over her arms. here is the true account! via pictures of course!

We Have A Table, Lets Eat!

brigitte and i finally finished our table! well, we just need to get some tacks so that the vinyl is tighter. i cant wait to eat delicious meals on it! and play fun games on it! and sew on it!

its so cute! i just really love it. we also get to stare at our beautiful friends faces while eating! a great bonus if i do say so my self! we plan on putting flowers in the vase in the middle. unfortunately, we cant get fresh flowers because emily will eat them, so fake will have to do!

Just For The Record, My Eyes Arent Brown

so i made this my title because i remembered that when we were at petes many people started pointing at me when they played brown eyed girl. i just thought that it needed to be cleared up that my eyes are not brown, but in fact blue/green/gray. that is right, i am unsure what color my eyes are....haha but i know they arent brown!

also, i cant believe i almost forgot to post my before and after! long awaited?! i think so! especially since i finished the tables over a week ago!

mondayi decided to lay in the grass today and listen to music because it was beautiful. i fell in love with mango tree and a few other angus and julia stone songs.

i also found this video interesting. i cant figure out how to post it, but i think you should watch it. im also not quite sure why i really enjoyed watching it. i think its the still motion.

my sister said we would have a fun day today. however, this is what i got....haha

we still did have fun though. ate at fuzzys, always yummy! watched old home videos (i realized that we may have unintentionally been a bit abusive to our pet ducks) and i made her a fabric hair flower. im going to make her some more today.

wednesdaybelieve it or not, but i woke up before noon today! and by before noon, i mean early enough to finish twilight (and write this blog entry)! i still cant believe that i gave in and began reading these books. i also cant believe that i enjoyed reading the first one! now dont go thinking im obsessed. i would still stop in the middle of chapters and go to sleep if i wanted to. in fact, i think i may have a record long time that it took me to read it, 2.5 weeks! haha

perhaps it is a bit early to be posting the picture of today before the day really begins. i am just really proud of my finishing of twilight! i am also excited to begin the book that i am reading for my "independent study" this summer since i was unable to meet with my professor for 3 weeks. its called the spirit catches you and you fall down by anne fadiman. i think it will be very interesting because it deals with other cultures and how we should treat patients when our cultures clash. brig read it and loved it. she says its a good view of how our culture affects other cultures. very excited!

Boots Of Beer!

yesterday i succeeded in purchasing my fabrics for the tables! i am going to refrain from posting which ones i chose so that it will be an exciting surprise when i post a before and after! perhaps they are ones i posted the other day, or perhaps they are not....time will tell!

laura came back yesterday afternoon since she was leaving this morning for her colorado adventure. for a celebration, we finally made our way to royal bavaria! i must say, drinking beer out of boots is for some reason much more entertaining and yummy than drinking it from a regular glass.

wednesdaythis picture reminds me of the green family. the baby was so cute and loved us so much! i still think its strange that they were all wearing green though. at some points during the meal i felt like jessica should have joined their table. haha

miller light was just so gross compared to our beer at dinner. if only everything could be just as yummy!

thursdayi know that it is a bit early on thursday to already be posting the picture of the day, but i am so excited that callie is finally making her lap board! she decided on a fabric that i almost bought for my chairs. i cant wait to see the finished product! going to christmas expressions also reminded me of one goal that i have in life which is to open my own boutique. i really love the older woman who works there and hope that one day i will be like her. she is always happy and extremely helpful when picking out fabric. it just seems like a really enjoyable job to help people pick out supplies for their crafts and focus everyday on making things really cute. i love cute things!

now for something completely off topic but related to my past couple of days. i cant even explain how many noodles i have eaten in the past two days, not that i dont always eat lots of noodles, but i dont usually eat shells and cheese on a regular basis or "noodles and cheese" like i had at the german restaurant (which i highly recommend!). i am obviously a chef because that is what i made callie for every meal! haha because of these noodles and getting a medium lemon berry slush at sonic happy hour, i feel like i am going to explode. its like a really intense and painful sugar high.

i am sad that last night was the last night laura will sleep in my bed :( i have loved all of the sleepovers that we have had lately and wish that they didnt have to end! i love you so much laura and will be thinking of you, jess, and megan when youre skydiving this weekend! so jealous!

It Just Took Me To Fabric With Worms On It...

last night, brigitte and i spent much time trying to figure out the perfect fabric for the tables in the living room as well as curtains for her room. i must say, i am just in love with fabric worm! she just seems to have some of the cutest fabrics in the entire world! i would love to buy some of the really expensive packages that comes with many different fabrics, some of which i would normally not pick out if it was sold by itself. they all coordinate together and make me think about amazing projects i could do with them. lets just say, i love throw pillows....and i would love to learn how to make my own sheets. since i have those tables to fix and a lamp that is need of a lamp shade, those are my first projects that i would like to complete asap.


i would love to use this fabric for one of the lamp shades that is in desperate need. i feel that the colors are light enough that it would still disperse enough light, but at the same time will add some beautiful color and design to the room.

for the three side tables/coffee table ottoman thing, there are so many to choose from that it makes it very very difficult to decide! there is a set of six fabrics that i absolutely love, but for some reason they are only sold in 1/2 yards and i would need them in 1 yard. i could probably even get away with 3/4 of a yard! im hoping if i message fabricworm, she will be able to help me out some. here are a few from the collection of six.


there are also a few other ones i have found that i like that are sold in 1 yard, but i feel that i cannot find three different ones that would go perfectly together. i am hoping that if these fabrics that come as a set dont work out, i will be able to find some that blend pretty well together. here are two that i am thinking about.
well, i guess since i am doing rambling on about craft projects, it is time for what all of you are waiting for....pictures of the day! i have not been doing things that have been all that interesting, but they have all been very enjoyable to me, which of course, is the only thing that really matters!

saturdaywhat an exausting day! i went shopping with cristina, her sister abby and one of her cousins for bridesmaid shoes and jewelry. we found the pair we wanted right when we first walked into the mall, but unfortunately there were none in our sizes! after searching every single shoe department and shoe store in all of pen square, we decided it was time to try our luck at dsw (which is by the way my favorite shoe store!). right after walking in, there they were! a pair of shoes almost exactly like the original ones we wanted that were only $40! most exciting moment! they are snake skin print peeptoes. love them! i would post a picture, but i already feel that there are way too many pictures posted on this entry, haha. if you want to see them just let me know and i will post a picture! i already wrote about moving so i will refrain from talking about it again. the picture is of me and callie laying in her bed and both blogging/talking to laura, megan and brad on ichat. great night!

sundayi cant believe i am finally out of the haunted house! what an amazing feeling! i also cant believe how clean jess and i got the house to be! it was so amazing and i wish it was like that while we were living there.

mondaytoday was my first official day of summer. no working at the pharmacy for school without being paid and no packing/moving to be done. yay for celebrating by having margs at the pool! i think brig and i are going to make it a tradition. only a few boxes left to unpack! i cant believe how different this apartment looks from when laura lived here. its really strange.

tuesdayunfortunately i was only able to go to the pool today for an hour for two reasons. 1 being that it started to rain and 2 because i was meeting cristina to get my bridesmaid dress altered. my dress is going to look soooo much better once it is fixed! i guess im not actually a size 10 haha since she did have to take out two inches. i was just really paranoid that i would be the one who would ruin everything by not knowing how to order my size! enough of that, lets talk about buffalo wild wings. callie and i ate so many wings! well, 8 each. that is what i really wanted my picture of the day to be of, but i got too excited and we ate them all before i even got a picture! so this picture of us relaxing after eating tons of wings with our feet and beer will have to do.
