not quite as homestyle as actual homestyle

i decided to try one of those kraft homestyle macaroni packages for an easy dinner one night with handsome. i went with the alfredo one and i was pleased with the results! now, i was not pleased enough to say it was the best ever (although, i did eat almost the entire dish! surprise...haha!). i definitely prefer the 30 days 30 ways recipes way more, but it is a good quick alternative to the regular kraft box! (i am not much of a fan of the kraft box.) i guess the only purpose of this post is to tell you to give it a chance if you are craving a macaroni dish that is more flavorful than the blue box!

one of these days i will start practicing self control and not eat everything that could possibly be placed in front of me. my wedding body depends on it!

guess what?!

were engaged!!!!

we were hiking up a mountain to bridal veil falls, the tallest waterfall in colorado, and when we got about halfway up to the top of the waterfall handsome got down on one knee! it was the most beautiful place ever and it was very special!

i had wondered if it was going to happen since he had insisted on staying somewhere nice while we were there, but i did not think he would propose until there was no more than three months until i moved to colorado. but i was wrong! and it was perfect the way it turned out!

we are super excited about it and are hoping to have a place for the wedding booked by the end of the week!

it is hard to tell, but we carved p&k engaged 6.25.11 into a tree. lovely!

a few weddings

this past summer two of my lovely friends got married and now seems like a great time to share some pictures! (most of which are taken from facebook. i have yet to become a photographer of people)

allie and tabers wedding was the fastest wedding planning ever! but it was absolutely beautiful and perfect for them. they had it in eureka springs which means road trip!!! a group of us from school headed there together and had a great time. once checking into the hotel, we immediately headed into town where we found the pied pipers pub. it was a great little place and we listened to the great musicians below for an hour or so until the pub closed for the night. they were awesome! we then headed to the tiki torch for some awesome dancing. so sweaty but so fun!

the wedding was at 8 am because it was the only available time. we did a great job making it on time and looking like we were well rested instead of how we actually felt.

i stole this one from allie, but i wanted a picture with her and taber in it. and it's beautiful with the trees!

leon got married a few weekends later. after the ceremony and reception, they had an after reception reception at nonnas. delicous drinks and half off appetizers!

notice the awkward straws. i dont understand why they dont choose to only stock straws uniform in length and not awkward. i had to keep my drink in my lap the whole time!

cristina and i with the lovely leon!

the lovely jessica and brian also had there super cute wedding reception at the norman train station! it was super cute with little touches of flowers that jessica got at the farmers market earlier that morning.

i loved how they had a screen showing all of their wedding pictures from when they eloped to central park back in may. it allowed all of the guests to have a glimpse into their beautiful wedding day. i was also really excited that jessica wore her wedding dress. it was beautiful!

fun times with lovely friends!

Cristina Oakley

cristina's wedding was saturday and i must say, it was absolutely beautiful! very deserving of its own post. i still have my hair up from it and it is a bit painful at the moment as i have at least fifty bobby pins in my hair and they are stabbing into my head since im laying in bed. it makes me wonder how i slept in them last night...enough of the side note.

the colors were absolutely beautiful, the view was absolutely beautiful, cristina was absolutely beautiful, the flowers were absolutely beautiful, everything was absolutely beautiful! and at the same time it was very simple, laid back and classic. i think the only bad thing about the wedding was how hot and humid it was! im just glad that it cooled down significantly for the ceremony, but we were all still sweating severely. i cannot wait to see her wedding photos!

i felt bad because cristina pretty much set up her entire wedding herself. we tried to help, but she didnt want us to. cristina knows how she likes things to be, and i know if i had set up the chairs she would have just gone through them and moved them to where she wanted them. you could tell when she was getting her hair done and could not do everything herself is when she got a bit stressed about the situation. i carried in beer, opened and closed the door for flowers and brought in the guys suits, but that is about it.

shortly before i took this picture, cristina's cousin put fake eyelashes on cristina and at the same time glued her eyes closed! it was so funny to watch her try and open her eyes. lets just say, she took them off and ended up not using them.

beautiful!

my favorite picture!

towards the end of the ceremony, they had a butterfly release. everyone had an envelope to open that had a butterfly in it that would fly away. i was really scared that mine would be dead. that was the last thing i wanted. but dont worry, mine was alive! and flew away! it was really cool seeing all these butterflies flying away. one landed on abby's bouquet, it was so cute!

im glad that i finally got to see leon! me, him and cristina used to hang out together all the time, but were unable to this past year. miss him! you can see a bit of the view in the background.

since it was so hot, the reception was pretty much moved inside. cristina was originally going to dance on the porch so that everyone could see while at the tables, but it just seemed more pleasant if it was moved inside with the cake and food. however, the beer and punch were still outside. i felt bad for the bartender because he was completely dripping in sweat, even after the sun was completely down.

first dance

she doesnt like this picture because she was chewing asparagus. i like it however because i think she looks like shes laughing rather than chewing asparagus.

lindsey is up next! that is true excitement on her face. right before cristina threw it she said "i better be the one who catches it!" and there it was! the picture the photographer got of her catching it is priceless.

i really cant believe the wedding is already over. it was a great time! and now they are in jamaica and im jealous!
