give me some limes!

im yearning for the sun. for summer. basically, im not built for ice and snow and am ready for some warmth! so i decided to make margarita cupcakes to get into the mood. and maybe it will feel like im laying by the pool with a real margarita in my hand. i have aslo owed many people some vegan cupcakes for over a year now, so i think its about time for me to pay up.

i did learn something from this adventure. read the ingredients very carefully before going to the store. because i did not follow this, i had to squeeze my limes to death just to get extra drops of lime juice. i ended up being about 1/4 a cup short of lime juice. even after turning each lime inside out and squeezing the life out of it (and my hands) i think i ended up only being about 1/8 of a cup short. they were still very yummy though!


i also accomplished nothing else that needed to be done on wednesday. meaning all my sweaters are still dirty, my hair washing schedule got off a day and my nails still need major grooming. but i did get to watch the babies! love them!

and while im on the topic of cupcakes. during this snow venture, i finally made mine and cristina's second cupcake shirts! naturally, i wore mine today since i was giving out cupcakes.

that is what i think about when i look at this lovely picture i took of my sister. and when i think about how productive i was in beginning to put my ideas from the beginning of october into action! as in, i am putting the appleques on my shirts that i bought at mood while in new york! i must say, so i far i am loving them! however, it is very difficult to sew around beads. it was a bit of a speed bump in my project since i had not even considered it. sewing this next shirt will be an interesting adventure due to the amount of beads. but regardless, i love them and cant wait to take pictures to show you! (i initially intended to take before and afters, but naturally, i got way too excited and forgot about it until it was too late. apologies)

Lovely

this past week was absolutely beautiful! the sun was always out and it was the perfect fallesque temperature (only a tad too warm to be actual fall). it was topped off with missing an A by one question on my infectious disease exam on tuesday, getting pho for lunch with cristina and leon in the asian district on wednesday and getting a 100% on my communications exam on thursday (if i didnt, i think i would have cried because is was so ridiculously easy and felt like a waste of time).

after pho, we went to get some boba tea. just like our tradition, i got the best lid sticker thing! (mine is the yellow one). i branched out and tried pineapple. it was extremely sweet. pretty much to the point of being sugar overload. but it was still yummy!

thursday was also cristina's birthday! i made her a new pillow pal because her old one is completely falling apart. i think it came out pretty good if i do say so myself!

My Arms...

...got a bit saggy towards the end of the night.

i learned that fishing line apparently stretches. i guess it has to have some sort of give in order to catch fish.

my stuffed arms are so talented that they can point for the chant too!

all i have to say is, leaving the game at half time to hang out with jessica while eating yummy queso and burgers and drinking swirls = best idea ever!


i could do nothing else but die laughing when i first opened the car door and saw brad.

based on this picture, i learned that the most amazing jello shots ever severely dye your tongue. and fingers. yes, i had to use my fingers. they were way too big to swallow whole! or even in half for that matter.

i also learned that you cant swing from a willow tree like tarzan. even if you hold onto thicker branches and bunch multiple together. the only thing that will come out of it is bark in your eye. and a broken branch in your hands. trust me, bark in your eye is not the most fun. dont worry, that weak willow tree didnt cause any severe damage. i still have my eye!

one thing i wish i got a picture of is my sequin/glitter things that i would throw around on unsuspecting people. those people being my friends because i didnt want to disturb others. at least directly that is. i would also rather them just see it and think its magical. because it was!

i made my skirt (tu tu) for my halloween costume the other day (i am being the caterpillar from alice in wonderland) and i am sooo excited about it! i think my costume is going to be very magical and i may even make my goal of the whole thing being under $20!

i am also very excited because i found a halloween costume contest on the american apparel website where the top five costumes get a $100 gift card! all i have to do is wear something american apparel. which i do all the time and was planning on doing anyway (leggings and shirt). i hope i win!

Creations!

i feel like i have been extremely behind in blogging, so here are some creations that i have made in the past few weeks! i am very excited about each of them! lets start from first to last...

about a bit over a year ago when i bought my vegan cupcake book, i told cristina that i really wanted to start a cupcake club. it would start with just the two of us and then we would open it up to others once we decided what day would work the best for us and figured out more of the details. well, one of the details was that we needed shirts! i mean, what kind of club doesnt have shirts?!!? needless to say, a shirt company will obviously not print only two shirts, so the project was put on the backburner for quite some time. thanks to tracys creativeness with felt, i figured out the perfect idea for our club shirts! here is one of them. i made one for me and one for cristina and i still have another design to make for each of us. now all we have to do is wait for endo to be over so that we will have time to bake!

i have been wanting to make a fabric ball and knot necklace since before the end of finals. well, i finally made one! and right in time for football season! now, all we have to do is get our offensive line to learn how to play football. seriously, what happened to them, besides all the guys with experience leaving?!

i also made my first skirt ever and plan on wearing it for the football game tomorrow! it is supposed to rain so i cant decide if i should still wear it. but i think i will because i am so excited about it! and what would i wear if i didnt wear it? jeans in the rain...not a fun experience. my oklahoma t shirt dress......the same as the skirt. my other red dress with white on the top and a black band on the bottom....the same as the skirt. so the options are: my skirt that i love and really want to wear, or my very short victorias secret "athletic?" shorts. i think i will be going with my skirt. im glad that it has some pink in it. that way i can get away with wearing my chacos by claiming that they match. i hope this skirt brings some luck! (it looks kind of strange in this picture because its wet. i decided to hand wash it in order to avoid the possibility of the red color choosing to bleed onto my white shirt in the rain. hopefully i will have a picture to post of me wearing it!)

and yes. i am still working on my towel wrap! i have been using it for the past week or so, i just need to add a few finishing touches before i show it to you! these touches involve making buttons, which takes me forever since im not a clay master like carolyn and tracy. therefore, i have been putting it off a bit....and studying diabetes a lot this past week. i must also say, im glad my grades agree!

i have also decided to participate in this letter exchange that i told tracy about! i think all of yall should too because it will be a lot of fun!

Sticky Glue I Love You

so, i feel that there are just so many things that i want to blog about. and i dont just mean random thoughts i have, but things that i feel are funny. but then i always without fail, forget them! and i forget them because of my pictures of the day! either that or i feel that i shouldnt post more than once a day, or that i cant do a post without a picture of the day. dont get me wrong i LOVE doing pictures of the day. i feel that it has brought more to my rainbow than i could ever ask for and there is no way i will stop. who knows, maybe i will do them more than a year. i think i just need to remember to write about my funny things first and then do pictures of the day. or just not care that i have a million more posts than everyone else. regardless, from now on there will either be more posts or longer posts. i will just decide based on my mood.

now that i have finished what i guess could be house keeping, on to fun things!

i said bye to laura for the final time on wednesday. it was awful. well, awful is the wrong word. it was sad. i just wish i could hang out with her all the time! i love just being with laura even if all we are doing is sitting on our computers stalking! haha i cant wait to hear all of her stories about everything she experiences. yes, i am going to be living vicariously through her just like millions of people in this country live their designer lives through lauren conrad! anyway, she got the best teacher dress ever! and i am proud that i found it! and that she loved it too! she also convinced me to get some super cute sandals. i will post a picture when i wear them. speaking of shopping with laura, here is thursday!

here is my new friend fig! isnt she just the cutest! i bought her with laura on wednesday, but i didnt let her be a model until today.

not only is she a pin cushion, but she is a tape measure too! look at her show off that beautiful tail of hers! jealous, i know! haha

you also may be wondering why i needed fig in the first place. well that is a very easy question to answer. i bought her in celebration of me (hopefully) becoming an amazing seamstress! my mom announced to me that she has decided to buy me a sewing machine as an early birthday present! i am just soooo elated!

me, callie, brig and tracy have been trying to make french toast for a few days, but never could because we dont have milk. yes, we could have bought some, but neither me nor brig drink milk (unless its chocolate soy milk of course!). which brings me to my good news. i found a great recipe for french toast that uses chocolate soy milk! i made it tonight for callie and brig. i must say, very delish! i really want to try it with all kinds of fruits. tomorrow perhaps? target, here i come!

brig and i finally came up with a name for our apartment. get ready.....its.......RAINBOW COTTAGE! we decided on this name because 1. i am starting my new rainbow 2. it is rather colorful inside and 3. it feels cottage like!

fridaymmm mmmmm! i just love pink elephant. i also loved this picture because laura loves the fourth of july, and my cup was very fourth of july!

i also paid my ticket today. it wasnt too bad, only $79! i think the lady there thought i was kind of stupid because i had no idea what i was doing. i think of it as a good thing, meaning that i dont ever get tickets!
