pizza, mountains and outfit number three!

back in june (yes, i realize june was forever ago) handsome and i went to the mountains to look at different wedding locations. after enjoying the mountains for awhile, we became completely starving and headed over to grand lake for lunch. we settled on a pizza place and got a buffalo chicken pizza. it was the exact flavor i desired at that moment! delicious! we also got some ice cream for dessert. basically, it was a great day!

one thing i love about colorado is how amazing the sky looks on a beautiful day! it looks fake in photos as well as in real life. love it!

door searching

handsome and i went on a search for the perfect door at the habitat for humanity restore and found some that had great potential! and i also wore my second 30 for 30 outfit! woo hoo!

the skirt that i am wearing is actually a dress. all i did to make it into a skirt was fold the bottom half of it up. it fit tight enough so that it didnt require pins or anything! it was a nice change from the way i normally wear it.

number one!

i am excited to share my first 30 for 30 outfit! i wore this outfit the day after i moved to little rock. handsome and i went to eat some lunch and enjoy an ice cream cone before i had to take him to the airport. i wish he was able to stay longer!

this photo was taken in front of my new favorite store, box turtle, before i knew i would love it so much! the dress i wore to the wine festival and our engagement dinner is from here. i also got a few other super cute things including magnets and snail mail, but that is another story!

we ate at a place called u.s. pizza co. i know pizza and queso do not go together, but i had a craving and we had to try it! i thought the queso was very yummy, but the chips were not good at all. they were those heavy corn chips that you would expect to be served with your queso if you were at a bar. you had to put a lot of queso on the chips in order to try and hide the taste of the chip. it would have been perfect if lighter chips were served with it!

the pizza was very good. the crust was perfect! it was thin, but still fluffy. what i liked the most was the amount of cheese that was on it. there was a pretty patio on the side of the building that was surrounded by plants. i think this would be a very enjoyable place when the weather is not so hot. i will eat here again, but i would like to try other pizza places too.

and now for a funny story! handsome makes me sign the receipts when we go to restaurants. i am not sure why this is, but it is always how we do it. i always sign his name, but for some reason i had issues this day and signed my name. i realized after i put my first name and decided that kirsten kind of looked like preston and then finished the name with petty. handsome wanted to document the first time i signed my name as kirsten petty haha! it was an accident. we laughed about it for awhile and still bring it up sometimes! (this was before we were engaged, but handsome had the ring ready!)

we went across the street to a place called river city and got some very affordable ice cream cones! i got cookies and cream and handsome got strawberry (i think he may have a strawberry obsession). it was very refreshing since it was so hot outside! i did kind of wish i had gotten strawberry though. i feel that it would have had a fresher and colder taste to it.

the 30 pieces have been decided!

i finally picked out the 30 pieces that i am going to use for the 30 for 30 remix and even photographed them! now we just have to wait and see if i am actually able to make 30 outfits!

***i just realized that somehow i accidentally put a dress in the section with my tops! how silly of me! i guess it really doesnt make that much of a difference, but the "top" that is purple with flowers on the top left is actually a dress. oopsie! i promise i know the difference between a top and a dress! ha!***

30 for 30 remix

elsie over at a beautiful mess shared her top ten favorite fashion blogs and i could not help myself but go and take a gander at each and every one! i immediately loved the style of kendi from kendi everyday and began to take a look around her blog. one thing i fell in love with is her challenge called  the 30 for 30 remix that is aimed at helping her as well as her readers learn to shop from their closet, become more creative with their outfits and adopt more of a less is more lifestyle. i decided that i needed to become involved in this because i definitely could use some creativity when picking out what i am going to wear. i definitely fall back on the same outfit over and over again and rarely pair new things together. my 30 outfits will definitely take me longer than 30 days, especially with my current moving process, vacation with handsome, and me not knowing what i will be needing to wear next month with my residency starting, but i will eventually finish! that is something i can promise you! i will be picking out 30 pieces from my wardrobe next week after i get my first licensing exam behind me. i am excited to see how this transforms my thoughts when staring at my closet! (and hopefully i will learn how to model better too. ha!)
