there are many things i should be doing that do not involve blogging, such as packing, organizing, studying, showering, putting away the laundry and i am sure there are other things that are escaping my mind at the moment. however, i need a break and want to do something i enjoy, so here i am!
my dad and handsome were the sweetest ever and got me a dslr for graduation!!! (graduation post to come later) well, my dad got me the amazing body of the camera (nikon D90) and handsome got me a wide angle lens to go with it! some people would say that a wide angle lens cannot be used everyday. or that it cannot be used for portraits or food. however, i disagree! i love the distortions it causes like i cant explain. basically, i am super excited about it (i have desired one for years) and have been taking tons of photos! it has also made it very difficult in deciding what photos i want to post, so i will be posting a lot of them, ha! why am i telling you this? well, because i feel like i have many adventures and things i want to share, but i would like to first share adventures that involve photos that were taken with my new camera. so here they are, the first reveals!
this last weekend was my last weekend in oklahoma and it was sad, but also super fun! tracy, brad, jessica and i had adventures and i got to have my last tastes of norman.
right before heading down i realized that i nearly forgot to have a swirl before leaving! naturally, we could not let that happen so we headed over to the mont to enjoy swirls, cheese fries, great stories and the beautiful weather. i am sure that our waitress was not too pleased with our tiny amount of ordering.
we then went to fuzzys (yum yum!) and shared queso and two fish bowls. they even agreed to put three fish in the first one! things seemed to get crazy towards the end of our fuzzys adventure for some unknown reason. brad worked really hard to get tracy to tell us stories and feelings and we played with our rubbery fish (guppy, winston and charles). tracy ended up squirting brad in the eye with hot sauce and causing him much pain. his shirt acquired a few stains that were then washed off sometime in the middle of the night. then they had a dance off. no night is ever complete without a dance off!
after fuzzys we made our way to the lovely opies for one last crazy dance party. opie was super excited to see us and we immediately went to the rap side. i am not sure what was going on the particular night we went, but the music on both sides was weird. neither side was playing their usual songs and we actually ended up enjoying the rap side more than the disco. the rap side even played britney! woo hoo!!! after being told the disco side was unable to play thriller, we were surprised to hear it start playing. we cleared the dance floor and performed our usual thriller dance and then headed back over to the other side. we ended up being at opies for about four hours. infinitely longer than our usual trips, but it was wonderful, sweaty, calorie burning and also great people watching!
love.
Looks like so much fun! How exciting about your new camera!!! woo hoo!
