day 25 (happy pumpkins!)

happy turkey day everyone!!!! hopefully i am stuffing my face with turkey, potatoes and other delicious thanksgiving foods when this posts. i decided to make this post all about halloween pumpkins. even though it is thanksgiving day, i still think it is appropriate because pumpkins are festive for thanksgiving as well. maybe not jack o lanterns, but still. it kind of relates.

i love carving pumpkins, but i also do not have a lot of patience with it at the same time. i never do detailed pumpkins or use any of those pattern papers. my method involves taking a kitchen knife or one of those pumpkin saws and just taking it to the pumpkin and seeing what face comes about. i have used this method for years and have yet to not enjoy it!

everyone worked very hard and created some of the greatest pumpkins! each of them had a very unique personality.

we all posed with our pumpkins trying to make matching faces. i think we were all pretty successful!

they all look pretty good! i initially wished i had carved mine earlier than just a few days before halloween so that i could have enjoyed it longer. but when i picked up arthur to throw him away he felt squishy and grossed me out a bit and i did not wish for that anymore. i dont even know what it would have been like had i waited longer before throwing him away. especially since i kept him inside. gross!

i now leave you with halloween cupcakes. they may not be as good as a thanksgiving pumpkin pie, but they may be cuter!

love.
