day 22 (halloween recap)

since i am ill with the lovely strep throat and have pretty much slept the entire day, i now feel a bit more refreshed and have a bit of time and some energy to make and schedule a few real posts. i hope you enjoy the brief change!

this halloween was very different than any other other halloween that came before it. this would be because i did not actually celebrate halloween on halloween like i always do and the only celebrating i actually participated in was on friday night at the pharmacy/dental party. regardless, i thought it was a great time. maybe too great haha

cristina opted out of dressing in costume. i went as a child equiped with a large ribbon bow, stickers, spider rings, tutu, leggings, halloween socks and of course, a cute pumpkin cup with a straw.

tracys bird costume was amazing! i screamed the most intense screams of my life to try and get her to win the costume contest. handsome and i felt that the dj was on my side, but i guess the crowd wasnt. instead they chose a super lame guy dressed as a miner as the winner. i have no idea what they were thinking when they chose to cast that vote. of course, i have always loved brads porcupine costume since the day he premiered it. i was super excited to see it back in action!

handsome was "the dude".  i dont really know about it since i havent seen the movie hes from, but lots of other people understood without any explanation! the funniest part was that cristinas husband thought this was handsomes natural hair haha. and him and cristina didnt recognize him the following night when they first saw him because he was wearing his natural hair. cristina actually thought that he was her cousin for a brief second haha!

and now for an explanation of probably the most intense part of the night. a lot of my friends had left the party sometime before the costume contest even took place. brad and tracy had just left and i ended up running into some friends at the bar. somehow, dont ask me how, a hair flinging contest was placed on the table. the girl on the right is known for her hair flinging and flipping and challenged me. she practically said there was no way i could win! naturally, i had to put my gameday face on and put up a good fight. she went first and no lie, she was great! i knew i had to step it up a few notches to even have a chance. i braced my feet in a firm stance and began flinging my hair to the beat of the music. i then stopped and rotated 180 degrees and continued flipping. once i stood up i was incredibly dizzy and flew into the bar destroying tons of empty beer bottles and ended up with the hugest bruise ever on my hip. but i can say it was well worth it because i won!!! woo hoo!!!!! that is why im super sweaty and looking a bit out of control in the picture. it was taken right after my sweet taste of victory! that and the extreme dancing i was doing before the contest got me the sweatiest of my life.
