florist is not a word that i would typically, or ever, use to describe myself in any way. but last weekend i became closer to this word because bailey brought to my attention that we had an amazing opportunity to take a floral arranging class for free in the union! of course i immediately jumped at the chance to improve what very meager skills i have at making beautiful flower creations.
the flowers we got to use are not my favorites (carnations and babys breath), but it was a fun time and even though mine didnt turn out perfect, i feel that i have improved a lot. and we got to keep our flower arrangement!
i wouldnt completely call myself a florist at this point in time, but with some practice (which i see happening frequently in the future) i may have a chance! or at least a chance to be my own florist using fresh flowers i find at target.
look how great they turned out! baileys is superior to mine, especially since i couldnt get that flower at the top to go down more, even when i tried trimming it! next time.
it now sits next to the tv and i get to look at the loveliness when i actually take time to sit down and enjoy selected shows (glee starts soon!!!!!).
we were also lucky enough to be in the last class so we got to take home leftover vases and flowers! i filled my hands with daisys and babys breath in hopes of making it into something beautiful. and i did! i actually think i like it a bit more than the arrangement i did, just because of how natural it looks. it is what it is and it will be what it wants to be. it's pretty however it falls. there is no need to place each stem in its "proper" spot. or maybe i just dont know what good flower arrangements look like. haha

i really do like how free and natural it looks. almost as though i grabbed a handful of flowers out in some beautiful field. kind of like the field of poppies in the wizard of oz (oh how i would love to leap through that field). but i did kind of do that. except i grabbed handfuls of flowers from buckets instead of the ground. i just didnt have to deal with the dirt. and didnt get to leap.
i hope everyone had a lovely easter!
love.

you could have still leapt if you wanted to :) being indoors can't keep the OUPS from frolicking!!
