last friday morning on my drive to school there were a bunch of smashed pumpkins covering a small part of the highway. i usually dont like smashed pumpkins, but this time it made me happy. happy because it reminded me that it is almost my favorite month. october! dont get me wrong, i love the summer and the spring (definitely not the winter. i think i only own two long sleeved shirts) but there is something about october that i just find refreshing.


here are a few reasons why i love the coming month...

i just love the smell of the crisp air and the sound of leaves crunching under your feet.

i love how i can wear my hair down and not have it make me feel one hundred times hotter.

i love how it brings me back to my childhood when i would make extravagant leaf homes using chicken wire so that they could have a ceiling and walls and how i would be comfortable sitting inside my creation all day with my pet ducks.

i love halloween. the candy. the costumes. i long for an excuse to still trick-or-treat.

i love carving pumpkins.

i love it when the leaves begin to change color.

i love how i will soon be wearing my toms everyday.

i love being able to have every door and window open to let the natural breeze blow through.

i love burning oils and candles that have fall/winter scents because they warm up any space. anything spiced, cinnamon, pumpkin or even a mixture of them. my favorite right now is called spice market.

edit: tracy reminded me, how did i ever forget? its also my birthday! and who doesnt love their birthday?!
