and the search begins...

even though i have been craving a new location to call home, there is one aspect that i am going to miss the most about oklahoma; the strong buy local movement. i love how there are many people and businesses that focus on buying things created and sold locally. it is very refreshing and what better way to spend your money on than to support your local economy, not the big corporate stores (except target. i have way too intense of an addiction). i also feel that i have found little shops that i love. some that even only sell super cute things that have been handmade locally. i will also miss the coffee shops that i have grown to love, especially cuppies and joe. their boom boom pow cupcake is amazing and i feel that there is nothing else like it. i guess i am a bit nervous about getting out of my comfort zone and also feel that i have not had enough time with the places i love. i know there are probably a lot of cool local places in denver, but it's a bit exhausting just thinking about trying to find them. i have been searching the internet all morning to see what i can find and have had a bit of luck. there is one very helpful website i have found called colorado local first. what is most helpful about this site is that it has neighborhood guides about different areas in the city and the different local shops, eateries, art galleries and yoga studios you can find in each one. the only downside to these guides is that it is difficult to determine where you would like to go the most because there are not very many descriptions of the places and i have no idea what the areas are like. however, i am looking forward to the adventure of exploring every little place i find and determining what place i like the best, where i would like to spend my downtime, and what i would like to indulge in.

my exploration is beginning today and i am excited to share what i find. i hope that i find little places that i can love just as much as the places i will be leaving in okc.

love.
